Its been a while...
Its been a year since my last posting, but none the less, it has been a year of more Toronto educating, learning and lots of great photos- not only of current locations compared to the photos pulled from the Toronto archives, but ones taken with the minds eye, stored away for future reference.
Everyone has memories of years gone by.. whether they include locations, words or even weather conditions, a memory is the most personal thing one can carry with them.
My city, Toronto, holds memories near and dear to my heart. Its where I learned how to walk, talk, and also how to explore. Walking the streets of Toronto, I have fond memories of weekends, days skipped from school and summers at day camp visiting various places throughout the city from parks, tourist attractions and rides on the infamous red rocket subway, (which back then had windows that opened).
I recently have had moments of wondering whether or not the exploring I have done most recently will be remembered as much as the moments that were created 25 years ago? There is no way to know that, only time will tell. Looking at a city through the eyes of a child as opposed to an adult is a different experience. What seemed so large and interesting as a child, seem most times much smaller and insignificant as the older version of that curious child would compare the two.
Finding others that have significant memories growing up in Toronto becomes harder with each year. The generations of homegrown Torontonians have moved away or moved on to something bigger than us. My hope is that the new generations of Torontonians create significant memories in this magnificent city, and appreciate everything it has to offer, and the history it has created for future generations to learn about and enjoy.
Its about making a mark, a memory, an imprint in time that not only you can remember, but hopefully if not many-but even just one person will be affected by, in a positive way, and in turn create lasting memory for the next to enjoy.
My passion and love is this city, and my need to share it with others. Hopefully my passion creates an interest in something you never gave much thought to, and perhaps took for granted. Create a re-appreciation for Toronto, regardless of the traffic jams, and all the times you were late for work due to a subway delay. Remember the milestones you created and will continue to create here at home.

What classifies as real news?
Is it really such a big deal that a councilor for the city expensed his taxi rides? And is it also earth shattering that another member on that council decided to expense a chimpmunk costume? The only thing that may intice me read more, is if it was the same councilor was in a chipmunk costume taking a cab..
In a tech savvy world that we have become, formerly referred to as "irrelevant" information, now seems to take centre stage. Cell phones capturing images of what one deems irresponsible, others tweeting about how annoyed they are with waiting for the streetcar. What happened to relevant news?
